Integration of Certification Programmes

AIFC Academy actively collaborates with universities and academic institutions to foster modern and flexible educational solutions. Our goal is to assist higher education institutions in preparing specialists who are in demand amid a rapidly changing economy, technological shifts, and labour market transformation.

One of the key directions is the development of minor programmes — short-term certification courses integrated into the academic curriculum. These programmes enhance students’ core specialisations and develop their interdisciplinary competencies. The courses are delivered with the involvement of leading local and international lecturers, practitioner experts, and methodologists.

What We Offer:

1. Summer Camps
2. Minor Programmes
3. Internships
4. Guest Lectures
5. Integration of Certification Programmes

We organise summer educational camps in partnership with universities, where students undergo intensive programmes. This is an excellent opportunity to explore new fields of knowledge, engage with real cases, and work in project teams under the guidance of industry experts.

SUMMER LAW CAMP 2023

A certification programme on the legislation of Kazakhstan and the AIFC: an intensive practicum “Summer Law Camp” held from 31 May to 2 June 2023, in collaboration with Narxoz University.

Course content:

  • Data Protection and Privacy in Kazakhstan
  • AIFC Law for Business
  • Compliance in Kazakhstan and the AIFC (Compliance & AML/CFT)
  • Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing in Kazakhstan and the AIFC

Number of students trained: 27

AIFC Academy develops minor programmes for universities aimed at training in-demand specialists. Minor programmes are short-term certification courses embedded into university curricula, designed to deepen knowledge and foster interdisciplinary skills.

To implement these programmes, we engage leading local and international experts and lecturers, including theorists, practitioners, and methodologists.

In 2024–2025, we are running a project in cooperation with Kazakhstani universities and supported by a sponsorship partnership with the Freedom Shapagat corporate foundation.

The project covers the development and delivery of courses in key areas:

  • Derivative Securities — Options
  • Asset Management
  • Financial Market Regulation
  • Resolution of International Commercial Disputes

Implementing AIFC Academy’s minor programmes will expand educational opportunities for students, build relevant competencies, and strengthen ties between academia and the professional community.

We provide students access to internships and practical assignments within AIFC bodies and organisations, as well as companies operating in the AIFC ecosystem. This helps students apply their knowledge in real conditions, receive feedback from employers, and develop career paths.

INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME “MY FIRST PROFESSION” 2022

  • Total student applications: 178
  • Students who completed internships at BCPD Ltd.: 44
  • Internships within the AIFC ecosystem: 38
  • Internships in open market companies: 20

Students participated in specialised internships and also volunteered at the EdTech Forum M.E.T.A. 2022.

We organise guest lectures by international experts and industry leaders on topics aligned with minor programme content. This allows students to learn about current practices and trends firsthand.

We assist universities in integrating international and industry certifications, such as FRM and CFA, into bachelor’s and master’s programmes. This enables students to gain not only academic knowledge but also enter the labour market with recognised professional qualifications.

AIFC Academy welcomes cooperation with universities and educational institutions to develop customised programmes tailored to specific goals, needs, and regional characteristics.
